So far on AI we've been mostly about the first principle on which this group was formed: keen observation about the workings of mankind, and that elusive "Truth" of things. It comes through, even in our logo.
But the reason that this is only a secondary aspect to the group (or should be), is because most individuals find and investigate these things for themselves. The most prevalent use of our current system is only for when someone has only loose ideas of a current work, and comes across discussions that spark their own investigations. In this way, we can only hope to provide a stimulating environment, and even if we find the most compelling, correct, "Truth"ful answer to any philosophical question we can, that in itself can do no more than be a source of sparks of interest... intellectually stirring at best.
Let's not demean the search that goes on in the above mentioned activity. It is so important to share our ideas and to face them openly (remember the Oath)?
But what do we do with our keen powers of observation as a group? Towards what do we direct our time, our energy, our openness, courage and strength? Change.
I've stated before how Isolation is our enemy. Confronting it lies not only in breaking the isolation between us by sharing our ideas of reality, but in confronting the issues of the world.
The very existence of things out of place gives us a reason for action. For, if there were others doing everything required, there would be no need. No, that doesn't mean we'll necessisarily be the ones to fill that need, but our attention is required nonetheless. In fact, it may be our distance from a problem that gives us the ability to see it most clearly.
While ideas themselves our important, it's time we shift our attention to those that can be considered issues. In this I'm sure we'll all find alot more content for our novels, and place ourselves in a position of power (knowledge is power) in whatever we investigate.
And indeed they will be investigations. Even the most complex novel does not have the complications that our world does. Each struggle is a mystery that involves forces of all kinds, from giant political ones to those of the human conscious. And all struggles are interwoven and connected, at the very least by their coexistence in our world.
This is the core of AI, and is the main aspect of the group that the group as a whole will benefit from- from every addition. It is a revolution, a grasping of the concerns that grip our time, and turning it over to our hands, the hands of the new generation, to discover and solve.
