It's been mentioned before that we haven't quite hit the subject in the title on the head, when it comes to our forum. Why? What can we do to make our forum more welcoming and good to be in that we're not doing now?
Some ideas I came up with (agree or disagree as you like, and then help to fix whatever problem through suggestion): Posting isn't varied enough People don't post often enough People aren't posting what they're truely interested in day to day, so it seems more formal than it should be around here The color scheme is boring The logo and the motto that I came up with are a bit too.. imposing, and seem to set an ominous atmosphere (I'm just throwing that one out there.. no one has complained about it yet) We're concentrating on the wrong thing... a first step for that would be to change our name, which I've been planning on doing when we got going a little faster. Maybe we should do that sooner? It's still confusing as to where to post and what to post

Ok, since no one else seems to have any ideas, I'm gonna come right out and say what I've been thinking about lately. I say we change our name to "Revolution: Idea" and rework our concentration to be on the revolution aspect of the group. You know, "A new generation of creativity". If we want to seem young and fresh, rather than a bunch of ivory tower philosophers, we need to sound like we mean to act, not just talk. Oh and www.revolutionidea.com is NOT taken.

I think that we're still taking the wrong approach. Yes, setting a good initial atmosphere is good, but for the most part - and I'm the perfect poster girl for this- I think that the best way to get the boards going is to get the current members to post more. Even though we are just a small group of members, we could get more discussions and stuff going. Once we get a bigger audience, it'll be easier to keep things going, but for now we have to work for it and towards it.

Ok, since we know that one, what other things can we do?
Also, my idea for more discussion surrounds working on analyzing popular culture. By looking at what's popular on the deepest level possible, we stay on the cusp of cultural changes, and in tune with what people value.
In a sense, we have to beat out the advertising agencenies in looking for what's going to be "cool", but for a nobler cause: so that we can connect timeless ideas with people here and now, in the mean time reaching the most people possible.

Sex sells. What can we do outside the boards to bring more people in? I know the members have been encouraged to invite anyone outside to the boards, but what other substantial thing are we doing to promote ourselves?

In large part I've been tentative about going "all out" for one reason: a name sells. And I still consider this a "temporary" name.
Now this narrows our options of getting the word out to.. well.. passing the word along, person to person. So far I have invited nearly everyone on this site, so please, some other people should help.... Please?
As for the people who already have membership to the site, I'm not sure how to get them more involved. I think during the next week I'm going to e-mail each personally, appealing to their better senses so that they come back. Over the weekend, then, it's the job of everyone who reads this post to create at least 2 more interesting threads, 3 if you're feeling especially in that holiday spirit.
Speaking of which, I'm going to come up with a holiday event... yes, I think I've got it.
